Walmart Is Closing a Batch of Stores in 2025 — Here’s the Full List

Walmart has announced that it will be closing several underperforming locations across the United States in 2025. The company says the decision comes after a careful review of store performance, community needs, and shifting consumer shopping habits. While Walmart continues to invest heavily in online shopping and delivery services, some physical locations have seen a steady decline in foot traffic.

Here’s the full list of Walmart stores closing in 2025:

  • Portland, Oregon – 4200 SE 82nd Ave
  • Chicago, Illinois – 4720 S. Cottage Grove Ave
  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin – 10330 W. Silver Spring Dr
  • Atlanta, Georgia – 1801 Howell Mill Rd NW
  • San Francisco, California – 2550 Mission St
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota – 1500 W. University Ave
  • Cleveland, Ohio – 26241 Great Northern Shopping Center
  • Denver, Colorado – 3600 W. 92nd Ave
  • New Orleans, Louisiana – 1901 Tchoupitoulas St

Walmart says employees at affected locations will be offered positions at nearby stores when possible. The company emphasized that while some communities will lose a physical store, they will still have access to Walmart’s online ordering and home delivery network.

Despite these closures, Walmart plans to open and remodel dozens of other locations in 2025, aiming to modernize stores with expanded grocery sections, improved pickup services, and more energy-efficient designs.
