An old man and woman had been married for decades — though everyone in town wondered how. They couldn’t stand each other. Their shouting matches could be heard clear down the street, and no one dared knock on their door after dark.

Every time they fought, the old man would yell, “When I die, I’ll dig my way up and out of that grave and come back to haunt you for the rest of your miserable life!”

Neighbors whispered that he practiced black magic. Pets went missing, strange lights flickered at odd hours, and eerie sounds came from their basement. Everyone feared him.

Then one day, the old man died — suddenly, under mysterious circumstances. The funeral was short and tense, with a closed casket. The neighbors crossed themselves quietly as they watched the body being lowered into the ground.

But just hours later, the widow was spotted at the local bar — drinking, dancing, and laughing like a woman half her age.

Her neighbors gathered around, stunned. One finally asked, “Aren’t you scared? He swore he’d come back to haunt you! Aren’t you even a little worried?”

The old woman took a long sip of her drink, smirked, and said—
