One afternoon, Little Johnny wandered into the bathroom without knocking and found his mother relaxing in the bathtub. Being a naturally curious kid, he stared for a moment, frowned thoughtfully, and then asked the question no parent ever prepares for. “Mom,” he said, pointing, “what’s that big fuzzy patch below your bellybutton?”

His mother froze for half a second, then did what parents do best — improvised. Trying to keep things innocent and avoid a complicated explanation, she smiled and said, “Oh, that? That’s just a bush.” Satisfied with the answer, Johnny nodded seriously, filed the information away in his young brain, and walked off like nothing unusual had happened.

The next day, Johnny struck again.

This time, he walked into the bathroom while his dad was stepping out of the shower, towel half-wrapped and steam filling the room. Johnny stared, eyes narrowing as if he were comparing notes. Then he pointed and said, completely straight-faced, “Dad… why does YOUR bush look like it’s been trimmed by the lawnmower?”

There was a moment of absolute silence.

Dad stood frozen, mouth open, trying to understand what had just happened. Mom, overhearing from the hallway, lost it completely and burst out laughing. Johnny, meanwhile, looked genuinely confused. “Mom said it was a bush,” he explained. “Yours just looks… different.”

Still innocent, still curious, Johnny shrugged and added, “I guess everyone does their gardening their own way.”

The parents stood there stunned — one laughing uncontrollably, the other realizing that some explanations, once given, have consequences. Johnny skipped away, perfectly content, while his parents learned a valuable lesson: kids remember EVERYTHING… and timing is everything too.
