When preparing for the birth of their first daughter, doctors told the Australians that the chances of having a child without a genetic disease were 25%, and the same number of chances that the child would not survive at all. Fortunately, the worst did not happen.

However, baby Tilba was still diagnosed with achondroplasia, a hereditary anomaly that leads to dwarfism. Doctors warned her parents that the girl might have spinal complications in the future, but overall she is a healthy and active child.

In 2018, Charlie found out that she was expecting another daughter, and she had inherited the disease from her father – achromatic dysplasia. Even though both children would live with dwarfism, the woman’s pregnancies went smoothly.

She took genetic tests, tried to fight stereotypes, and made plans for a large family. Only her third pregnancy in 2020 proved difficult for Charlie. She fainted and suffered from nausea and discomfort.

Later, the parents were informed that their son did not inherit the couple’s illness and was born completely healthy. Now the family will have to get used to the only member with a standard height.

Despite the warnings of doctors, hate on social media, and fear, the couple realized their dream and built a happy family, which is known to at least 359,000 Instagram followers.
