…he had been seeing my neighbor behind my back. The earrings were a gift—from him—but he had claimed they were lost to me.
He tried to deny it at first, but when I showed him a photo of his grandma wearing those same earrings decades ago, he had no words.
I confronted the neighbor again, and she admitted she didn’t know they were mine—only that her boyfriend had surprised her with them.
