Late one freezing evening, a Marine pulled into a tiny town after hours of nonstop driving. He was exhausted, sore, and desperate for sleep. Unfortunately, every hotel he checked was completely booked. One by one, doors closed in his face until he finally reached the last hotel in town. At this point, he didn\u2019t care about comfort anymore \u2014 he just needed a bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hotel manager hesitated and scratched his head. \u201cWell\u2026 I do have one double room left,\u201d he admitted. \u201cBut there\u2019s already a Navy guy in there. And I should warn you \u2014 he snores so loudly that guests in nearby rooms have complained before. I honestly don\u2019t think you\u2019ll get any sleep.\u201d The Marine didn\u2019t even pause. \u201cNo problem,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ll take it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next morning, the Marine came downstairs for breakfast looking unbelievably refreshed. Bright eyes. Big smile. Full of energy. The manager stared at him in disbelief. \u201cHow did you sleep?\u201d he asked. The Marine poured himself some coffee and replied casually, \u201cNever better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The manager was stunned. \u201cYou\u2019re telling me the Navy guy\u2019s snoring didn\u2019t bother you?\u201d The Marine shook his head. \u201cNope. Not at all.\u201d Now genuinely curious, the manager leaned closer. \u201cHow did you manage that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Marine grinned. \u201cWhen I walked into the room, he was already in bed, sawing logs like a chainsaw. So I walked over, leaned down, kissed him gently on the cheek, and whispered, \u2018Good night, beautiful.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
