A young man was shopping in a supermarket when he noticed a little old lady following him from aisle to aisle. Every time he stopped, she stopped. Every time he moved, she stayed close. What made it worse was the way she stared at him \u2014 not creepy, just\u2026 intense. Soft. Almost sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, he thought it was his imagination. But when he reached the checkout line, she finally stepped ahead of him and turned around. With a gentle smile and watery eyes, she said, \u201cI hope I haven\u2019t made you feel uncomfortable. It\u2019s just that you look so much like my late son.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The young man felt his chest tighten. He smiled back kindly and said, \u201cThat\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She hesitated, then added, \u201cI know it sounds silly, but it would mean so much to me if, when you leave, you could call out \u2018Goodbye, Mom.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
