Kennedy Jr.&nbsp;has been appointed the new Health and Human Services secretary after being confirmed by the Senate. This new position will certainly bring a number of changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speeches, JFK Jr. has highlighted that nutrition is the key element of health. With that said, his&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.minnpost.com\/race-health-equity\/2025\/02\/a-closer-look-at-rfk-jr-s-stance-on-ultra-processed-foods\/\">priorities<\/a>&nbsp;are the reduction of \u201cthe dominance of ultra-processed foods\u201d and the removal of \u201cfood additives and chemicals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the food additives, largely used in many foods, could soon be examined and even banned, many believe. The new Health and Human Services secretary is especially&nbsp;v<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He, however, didn\u2019t mention banning any particular foods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/7222533\/rfk-jr-health-human-services-secretary-confirmation-interview-fox-vaccines\/\">Asked<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<em>Fox News<\/em>&nbsp;host Laura Ingraham which food additives he\u2019d effectively remove from the US, JFK Jr. argued that he won\u2019t outright ban any because of the \u201cfreedom of choice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you want to eat Twinkies, you ought to be able to eat them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He, however, promised to introduce \u201cradical transparency\u201d in informing the public about food ingredients and their health impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RFK Jr. highlighted the need of healthier options at schools. He criticized the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/snap\/supplemental-nutrition-assistance-program\">Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program<\/a>&nbsp;for promoting processed foods and sugary drinks.ocal&nbsp;about artificial colors such as Red Dye 40 and Yellow No. 5 and their usage in the US food supply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert F.
